End of school year parties, picnics, class birthday parties, field days and field trips turned our household upside down this past couple of weeks. There were special days to bring special snacks, specific attire for specific events and particular places for particular children. May is a CRAZY month! So now that school is out, will things calm down a bit? Not a chance! Well, not in June that's for sure! I volunteered to help coach Emma’s and Mason’s T-Ball teams and between their games and Katelyn’s games, I’ll be at softball games almost every day the entire month of June. Our family alone keeps the Snow Shack in business during the softball season!
I always have conflicting feelings this time of year about summer break. Summer break brings. . . campouts, vacations, water balloon fights, picnics, drive-ins, fishing, BBQ's, watermelon, strawberry shortcake, corn on the cob, lemonade, s'mores, birthday parties, water parks, ponytails, slip n' slides, sleepovers and late-nights. BUT it also brings. . . sunburns, complaining bored kids, house is always a wreck, kids and friends everywhere, can’t keep pantry and fridge stocked, Otter Pop wrappers all over yard, dirt ringed bath tub, bandaids, bug bites, allergies, lost flip flops--do I really need to go on!
But hands down there are more good things then bad. I love to have my kids home (for the most part) and share the memories that can only be shared in the summer!

hey I like this entry sounds exciting!! I like the second paragraph is so cute it makes me excited to a mom. Well have fun and dont stress to much.
I'm excited for the summer too. Me and some neighbors just had a pinic at the park with our kids. The kids played on the slip in slide. It was a lot of fun!
You are so cute! I am excited for summer because of your cute background and description!
Cute background! Sorry it caused you so much grief! I'm with you about summer, such mixed feelings. If I could keep them happily engaged, argument free, and have a self-stocking pantry it'd be perfect!
Thanks for the summer ideas. Can you go boating/water skiing at Deirke's Lake and camp there or is it just a day trip kind of thing?
I know how you feel Kelly. I love summer but also love having the kids back in school and being on schedule.
We need to plan a Westview Ward reunion! :)
Love the feet pic and poem. I might have to copy that one!
