How's that Potty Training Going??

Since Landon has been born I get a lot of "So how's the potty training going with Riley?" I understand that's a natural question. She is 2 and a half after all. We get little bits of enthusiasm every so often and about going at it again with her. Like this last week. We thought, this is it. It's time, she's ready. So we send her to the bathroom and she's sitting on the potty (that's major by the way), and we leave for a bit hoping for some big news from her. Well, a while goes by and nothing. I don't hear anything. I figure I better go in the bathroom and see what is going on. I open the door and Riley is no where to be found. But this is what I find.....
Who does she think she's fooling??

Pine Basin

Katelyn went to Pine Basin, a camp a little over an hour from here, last week with some friends. It's for kids grades 4th-6th and she was so excited to go. She had to earn half of the money to go, which she did manage to do. She went up with a couple of good friends of hers and they had so much fun. They learned a lot, went on some hikes and even took a trip to Jackson Hole. They were there Monday thru Friday and parents night was on Thursday. This is where they put on some cute skits for us parents and the kids got to show us around camp. Katelyn did admit to being a little homesick, which surprised me a little. But she had a great time and is excited to go next year!

I'm glad Katelyn got to go with some friends. It made for a really great time.

2 Whole Handfuls!

Katelyn celebrated her 10th birthday this past Saturday. That's 2 whole handfuls as she would put it. She celebrated by having some friends over for a BBQ. They played water balloon volleyball, badmitton (yes, the 10-year olds loved the badmitton), some games that involved lots of candy, night games, and they roasted smores out at the firepit when it got dark. She really had a great birthday. She is lucky to have some really great friends.

Busy, Busy, Busy

So it's been awhile since my last post. But that is definitely not due to a lack of activities and things to blog about. It's blame can be put on a lack of time, sleep and a change of priority to blog immediately following an event. Who has time for that anymore? Since the birth of my 5th, I've learned that 5 is REALLY so much more than 4. Priorities shift, and you learn to choose your battles. And you learn that life doesn't slow down just because you have a baby. Life goes on with all the hustle and bustle that accompany our kids and us adults. That certainly has been true this last couple of weeks. The kids have all been busy. And with a newborn it has been difficult to keep up, but we've done our best. Here are a few of our families latest activities:
Mason graduated from Pre-School. I may have missed it, but the rest of the family and grandparents were there. He has had so much fun this year with Miss Kymm. But he is really excited and ready to start Kindergarten this Fall!

Emma had her dance recital. I missed that as well. (It's hard to get out with a week old baby.) But I got to see her dance at a later performance.
She did great! She loves her teacher Shana and loves to perform.

Katelyn has also decided to go with a more low-maintenance approach this summer with braids. One of her friend's moms was kind enough to take 5 hours to braid her hair for her. Wow! But she loves them and we'll see how long they last.

This past week I also made a trip to St. George for the funeral of my uncle. It was very sad, but it was also really nice to see a bunch of family and old friends I haven't seen in years. Here is a picture of me and my sisters and cousins. I was lucky to grow up just down the street from cousins and it was good to see them all.
And here is me and my sisters and brother. It was really great to see everyone.

As if I didn't have enough going on with softball, t-ball and everything else in full swing, why not throw in some tennis lessons for the girls.
The girls have been participating in a free tennis clinic the past couple of days. And they have really enjoyed it. Especially Emma. Which really surprises me because she's usually my less athletic one. But she's totally into it and wants some more lessons. Check out that swing! Katelyn reminded me of Venus Williams with the braids out on the court. It was pretty cute.

Then there's my little lovebug Landon. Who has kept me the MOST busy. He's so sweet and we just love him to pieces. Although he keeps me up all hours of the night, he has been such a fun addition to our home.
