So today I was shopping at Walmart, specifically the vitamin isle. Josh and I recently took Katelyn off of her antibiotics that she has been on for many years to prevent her chronic urinary tract and kidney infections. Her infections have become resistant to many antibiotics so we've decided to try something new and give her little body a break. I've been hesitant to trying herbal supplements but when what your doing isn't working too great, it's time to give it a shot. So I've been doing some research on what might work and asking around and discovered this great supplement that should work fantastic for her problems. So intead of spending a fortune at a health food store, I thought I'd try Walmart first, just to see.
So I'm walking up and down the the vitamin/herbal supplement isle which is very foreign to me, with my 2 tag-alongs Mason and Riley. I realize quickly that this is going to be difficult with so many options, trying to find this specific item, with 2 small children running up and down the isle. As I'm trying to concentrate at the task at hand Mason and Riley have found the children's vitamins. Ever notice how they put these things on the bottom shelves, well I did today. Children's vitamins have come a long way since I was a kid, because there were more choices than you can ever imagine. How do I know? Because they had them all pulled off the shelves, some out of their boxes, and were feverishly trying to get those bottles open--it was actually more Riley than Mason. (It didn't help that is was lunch time.)
We had Disney Princess, Transformers, Hello Kitty, Dora, Spiderman, even Hannah Montana--which came in chewable, liquid, gummy and bubble gum varietys. What ever happened to good ole' Flintstones? As I was picking up the mess, while trying to block out Mason begging for the Transformer vitamins, Riley had found her way down the end of the isle. When I looked up and saw Riley running towards me with a box of men's contraceptives in hand I knew my time in the vitamin isle was done!! I cleaned my mess, put the kids in the cart and left. And no...I never found what I was looking for.

Don't kids make shopping fun? You are braver than me, because I won't even take my one child to the store with me unless I have Brett for back-up. It sounds like you had one of those experiences that you'll laugh about later, even though we're the ones laughing now.
This is hilarious! Don't you love the feeling of helplessness and trying to make sure that nobody has seen what just occurred. I can just see Riley running down the vitamin isle. I hope your Katelyn feels better. I endured those infections when I was a little girl. I have yet to have one as an adult. Knock on wood!~
You have such a positive outlook on tough situations. That was funny...thanks for sharing.
Okay that's a sad little pathetic story and it made me laugh hard! It's so something that would happen to me. The worst is that you never found what you needed!
My kids are fans of the Dora vitamins. I'm not brave enough to let Weston out of the cart when I shop, he would be everywhere! But with him in the cart, he smooches all the food! I usually try to wait until Rich is home to go food shopping.
hah this so funny, know that I come to think of it, they do put all the childrens vitamins at the bottom!!! how rude!!.
How funny! I've had many shopping trips that end somewhat like that or with stitches and a maxipad stuck to Caleb's head to stop the bleeding. :-) Kids vitamins are great these days, we even found gummi calcium supplements at Target, which I'm glad for since they dont drink milk!
Next time just drop Riley and Mason off at my house - we would love to have them play while you get your shopping done! Good luck!
